Patrice Groomes Ghosh is an analyst at Atlas Venture where she evaluates and translates innovative therapies that tackle pressing unmet medical needs.
Prior to joining Atlas, Patrice completed her PhD in Chemical Biology at Harvard University, where she received an NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Fellowship. Her doctoral work, predominantly in the lab of Dr. Manoj Duraisingh, explored the translational feasibility of targeting the red blood cell for antimalarial host directed therapy; and characterized the broad spectrum activity of compounds targeting conserved determinants of both Plasmodium and flavivirus infection. During her time at Harvard Patrice was also a venture fellow at MPM Capital through Harvard’s Therapeutics Graduate Program, was on the leadership team of the Harvard Biotech Club, and served as co-president of the Minority Biomedical Scientists of Harvard.
Prior to her doctoral work, Patrice received her B.S. in biochemistry & molecular biology with honors from Brown University, where her thesis work characterized an efflux-mediated mechanism of antibiotic resistance. As an undergraduate, Patrice also conducted pharmacokinetic analyses of a lead drug candidate at the University of Pittsburgh and investigated bacterial iron uptake as an HHMI fellow at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
In her free time Patrice is an enthusiastic participant in cardio fitness classes, and enjoys immersing herself in nature or a good book.
